For a column about nature's many peculiarities in WOHLLEBENS WELT (3/2019), a nature magazine by GEO and Peter Wohlleben, I illustrated two flowers ("Why doesn't the autumn crocus bloom until autumn?" / "Why does the lady's slipper orchid have windows in its blossom?") and two insects ("Why does the bark beetle have its good sites?" / "Why does the praying mantis bite her husband's head off?" ).
